Ride Etiquette
York Viking Festival

Ride leaders are expected to set a steady pace and may
pause to explore places of interest, to take photographs or,
occasionally, try a bridleway.

Riders should inform the leader when they are leaving the
group at any time whether temporarily or permanently for
that ride.

Riders who don't wish to start from the Buttercross in
Pontefract can join the group elsewhere having contacted

the day's leader to determine the route or they can meet the group at any of the designated stops.

Occasionally, when numbers permit, there will be an organised run back to Pontefract from the
elevenses stop. The leader must ensure that no rider is left behind on their own, unless they choose
to leave the group. All riders should help the leader to ensure this doesn't happen.
